Sketch of the capture of Louis Riel on 15 May 1885.
Looks at the history of two examples of regalia that traveled to France; one with a performer in Buffalo Bill's Wild West show in 1889 and the other worn by a performer at the Jardin d'Acclimation (a human zoo) in Paris in 1911.

Historical note:
On 2 May 1885 Lieutenant Colonel William Otter was defeated by Poundmaker's war chief Fine-Day at the Battle of Cut Knife near Battleford, SK. A flying column of Canadian militia and army regulars was defeated by Poundmaker despite their use of a Gatling gun.Designed as a brief introduction to the issues for educators.
