Historical note:
Buffalo Bill Cody helped found Cody, Wyoming in 1895, and established his TE Ranch in the area. In 1902, he built the Irma Hotel, which he called "just the sweetest hotel that ever was." Introduction and letter from Indian Agent dated June 4th, 1895 to his superior regarding abuse taking place at the school. Recommends that a teacher should be brought before the Magistrate, fined, and dismissed.
Introduction to Documents Two and Three
Introduction and two archival items discuss the employment of Aboriginals in the agricultural sector. The first deals with the Dept. of Indian Affairs efforts to recruit them as migrant farm workers. The second discusses the exclusion of farm workers from protection under labour laws. Taken from the 1966 National Agricultural Manpower Committee Meeting.
