Historical note:
Joan Beatty was the first Aboriginal woman elected to the Saskatchewan Legislature. Prior to this Beatty had a career in journalism and production, as well as management at SaskTel.Edited version of a discussion paper prepared by E. Davie Fulton to assist in the resolution of the Lubicon Lake Band's struggle for tradition lands. The Lubicon Cree were missing from the original signing and negotiations of Treaty 8.
