Joan Beatty was the first Aboriginal woman elected to the Saskatchewan Legislature. Prior to this Beatty had a career in journalism and production, as well as management at SaskTel.Memorandum written July 20, 1885 by Hayter Reed, Assistant Indian Commissioner to Indian Commissioner, Edgar Dewdney outlining policies appropriate to the post-rebellion era.
