Historical note:
Buffalo Bill Cody helped found Cody, Wyoming in 1895, and established his TE Ranch in the area. In 1902, he built the Irma Hotel, which he called "just the sweetest hotel that ever was." The Edwin Brooks Letters: Part II
Brooks moved from eastern Canada to what is now Indian Head in the spring of 1882; went into partnership in with George P. Murray to form Murray and Brooks, General Merchants, 1883. In 1885 he sat on the jury that found Louis Riel Guilty of High Treason. Letters contain some commentary on local Indigenous peoples, events and settler-Indigenous and government-Indigenous relations. Entire issue on one pdf file, scroll to page 30
