Charcoal (Si'-okskitsis) was renowned for his strength and cunning as a warrior. He killed his wife's lover, fired at an Indian agent and a NWMP, and later killed a NWMP sergeant and was executed in 1897.Memorandum written July 20, 1885 by Hayter Reed, Assistant Indian Commissioner to Indian Commissioner, Edgar Dewdney outlining policies appropriate to the post-rebellion era.
