"In 1911 Edward E. Ayer, a Chicago businessman, presented to The Newberry Library his collection of historical source material relating chiefly to the discovery, exploration and colonization of North America and to the native races of North America, the Hawaiian Islands and the Philippine Islands. It contains at present about 49,000 volumes, bound pamphlets, manuscripts, documents and other accessioned pieces."Our Betrayed Wards: A Story of "Chicanery, Infidelity and the Prostitution of Trust"
Originally published in 1921. This version transcribed, curated and with additions. The author was the Indian Agent for the "Blood and Peigan" Indians from 1898 to 1911.
