An article in the Star-Phoenix July 22, 1943 describes a ceremony on stage in front of the grandstand, in which Sid Johns, secretary-manager of the Exhibition, was inducted into the tribe of Sioux Indians and made an [honorary] Indian chief, by Chief Harry Littlecrow. Johns was named Chief Fine Weather.
