An assessment was performed on the current state of the Mohawk language skills using a detailed questionnaire; results indicated efforts to teach Mohawk to the younger generation were successful.
A series of 1885 newspapers with articles covering the Saskatchewan Uprising. Includes The Penny Illustrated Paper and Illustrated Times of May 16, 1885, the Montreal Daily Herald and the Daily Commercial Gazette of July 8, 1885. Papers cover the battles of Batoche and Cut Knife Hill.

Maxime Ottawa discusses his views on the days proceedings, and the need for the Atikamekw people to change their psychology and way of thinking. Ottawa speaks of the need for respect for elders and traditional education in order to do this.

Boivin also discuses relations with the federal and Quebec governments, forestry development, and land claims negotiations. Following the presentation Boivin discusses some of these issues with Robinson and Dussault.

Ottawa discusses the Council which consists of three Attikamek communities in Lac St-Jean, the North Shore, the lower North Shore, and Sheffereville in the North, and its mandate of coming to an agreement with the Governments of Quebec and Canada on the settlement of comprehensive land claims. Following Ottawa's presentation Commissioners Ottawa, Robinson, and Dussault discuss some of the issues raised with him.

D'Anglure discusses his work and experiences with Aboriginal culture, particularly with regard to the Inuit people. D'Anglure discusses how he thinks cultural development and education is key to healing Aboriginal societies, and that political autonomy, while important, is not the only thing which must be done. Following his presentation the assembled Commissioners thank him for his thoughts.

File contains an individual presentation by Alain Vachon relating to Aboriginal people in the construction industry and the problems they encounter. He states that in his experience, Aboriginals may be passed over for a project in their own community and non-Aboriginal workers may only be hired. He also expresses frustration with earning a lower wage than a non-Aboriginal worker may earn, and says that female construction workers also face discrimination. Following the presentation is a question-and-answer session with the Commissioners.
