Study uses 90 in-depth interviews to explore the determinants of medevac decision-making from the perspective of frontline care providers; finds that possible factors that influence the decision include: the care provider’s experience, staffing levels, access to diagnostic/treatment related equipment.
Looks at a strategy to identify and share information to support strategic planning for Nunavut’s economic development; and looks at issues related to the land, people and communities in addition to more traditional economic concerns.
Makes recommendations under four themes: traditional foods, local food production, Federal subsidy and support programs, and project funding coordination and promotion.
