This report calculates and compares the gross domestic product output in Canada’s Northern regions, including the three territories and the Northern parts of seven provinces, between 1999 and 2009.
Discusses eight action items: communications, education and awareness, prevention, training, networks for prevention and response, and policy legislation and funding.
Presents findings collected from 11 communities in Northwest Territories based on questionnaires of 528 adults 50 years and older and 98 service providers.
Looks at Inuvialuit principles, values and objectives for the future including preserving cultural identity, participation in the northern & national economy, and protecting & preserving the Arctic wildlife, environment & biological productivity.
