Council provides advice and recommendations to the Government of Alberta and interested stakeholders on strategies to improve the economic security of First Nations women.
Case of child who was admitted to hospital with septic shock due to untreated dental abscesses which required emergency surgery. She was also suffering from malnutrition. Subsequently she and her two older siblings were apprehended.

Looks at the arguments put forward in support of the claim that Aboriginal peoples exhibit an inherent ecological consciousness; and examines the policy implications of expanding Aboriginal jurisdiction over environmental protection.
Researchers gathered information through conducting talking circles at the Edmonton Aboriginal Seniors' Centre and the Operation Friendship Seniors Society. The most common issues were discrimination by landlords and neighbours, difficulties in locating and accessing housing services, and inability to have family members stay. Makes eight recommendations.

Description
Located in Edmonton, Alberta, the Wellness House is a 16-bed, minimum security facility as well as a residence for offenders on release in the community. Purpose of study was to gain an understanding of the women involved and the unique model of case management. Sixteen in-depth interviews with nine offenders and seven staff members were conducted.
