“It’s All about the Scenery”: Tourists’ Perceptions of Cultural Ecosystem Services in the Lofoten Islands, Norway

Examines the tourism policy of the Lofoten Islands in Norway. Suggests that future policy requires better documentation and incorporation of the non-economic considerations of the tourism industry, including aesthetics, recreational opportunities, inspiration, social relations, cultural heritage, knowledge, spirituality, and identity. Also notes that landscape preservation is seen to be the highest priority.
