Examines the effectiveness of photovoice as a community based means to mobilize Indigenous water knowledge.

Water quality was measured at the treatment plant, in delivery trucks, and 142 household cisterns and taps from July to October, 2014. Risks were identified through monthly sampling and laboratory analysis, key informant interviews, and observation. Discussion of findings focuses on regulations and gaps.

Goal of research was to identify examples on reserves, key principles which guide the process in that context, and lessons learned. Thirteen articles are reviewed.

Study involved 579 participants from eight communities responding to four health-related questions: individual health concerns about drinking tap water; household concerns about drinking tap water; reported impact on physical health; and reported impact on mental health.

Reports on a project that used a collaborative process to create a 13 minute whiteboard video about changing environments in Northern Canadian communities and distributed it to local people. Project stakeholders were able to resolve multiple challenges and feel whiteboard videos may provide a viable and culturally relevant way of disseminating information.
