Indigenous Midwifery Knowledge and Skills: A Framework of Competencies

Competencies are: providing culturally safe care, supporting rites of passage, communication, developing the profession, support Indigenous health and well-being, managing prenatal, labour and delivery, and postpartum care, and providing newborn care. Under each competency skills, sub-skills and knowledge and abilities required are identified.
