Manitoba Métis Federation v. Canada (Attorney General): Understanding the Supreme Court of Canada’s Decision

Federation charged that the government had breached its fiduciary duty by failing to carry out sections 31 and 32 of the Manitoba Act, 1870, which had promised land to the children of the Red River Métis and recognized existing Métis land ownership.
