The chapter is broken into several versions of Blackfoot legends as interpreted by Hawkes. The subsections are entitled: "Six Se-Ka-Quon: Another Legend of the Blackfeet Nation", "The 'Sou-Ke-Tap-Pi'", "The Legend of the Big Stone" and "Incident at 'Big Bear's' Trail for High Treason".
