Primary Care Intervention to Address Cardiovascular Disease Medication Health Literacy among Indigenous Peoples: Canadian Results of a Pre-Post-Design Study

Study works with 47 Indigenous clients of the De dwa da dehs nye>s Aboriginal Health Centre (DAHC) in Ontario who are at risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD). Each client received three educational sessions delivered by an Indigenous nurse, the clients’ health literacy was assessed prior to and following the education session and found to be greatly improved by their attendance.
