This file contains a handwritten poem by James L. Robertson titled North West Rebellion / No. 2. March 19th, ‘85. The poem describes the gathering that led to the Prince Albert Volunteer force and includes various names of the Volunteers. Robertson writes of the impending battle against the Sioux at Duck Lake, Saskatchewan and wishes the volunteers well. The letter was donated to the Prince Albert Historical Society Museum by Fred M. Henderson of Victoria, BC in 1979.

Describes the process and outcomes, and role of nurse scholars in one-day event which involved community leaders, people and families living with addiction, service providers, local stake holders, health professionals, researchers and Indigenous Elders.

Historical note:

David Ahenakew (born July 28, 1933) is a Canadian First Nations politician, and former National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations. Ahenakew is a controversial public figure in Canada due to anti-semetic comments regarding World War 2 and the Holocaust.

File contains a copy of Diefenbaker's speech at his nominating convention as the candidate for Prince Albert, in which he speaks of his governments initiatives in allowing the voices of Indigenous peoples to be heard. He refers to the appointment of Indigenous senator James Gladstone, of giving Indigenous peoples the right to vote, and of the Indian Claims Commission.

Papers written by the Pioneers of Rupert's Land Executive Committee regarding who they were and there claims regarding rights. The Pioneers of Rupert's Land was an advocacy and commemorative organization composed of the white settlers (and some of there descendants) of Rupert's Land who resided there prior to the transfer to Canada in 1870. These papers discuss their scrip claims, and problems with receiving what they regarded as promised to them under the Manitoba and Northwest Territories acts. Includes some discussion of Metis scrip in relation as well.
