The two Commissioners discuss the mandate, goals, and composition of the Commission. Commissioner Chartrand specifically focuses on the idea of self-government, and the different views of it the Commission has encountered in their travels to date. Chief Phil Maness of the Chippewas of Sarnia First Nation also briefly welcomes the Commissioners and other participants.
