Examines Canadian Nunavut Aboriginal students' views on Western teachings in science education and the development of a culturally responsive curriculum.
Proposed funding options for K-12 schools in Nunavut to deal with high pupil-teacher ratios, low student outcomes, high non-attendance, teacher recruitment and retention, and insufficient funding for special needs students.
Final report on a pilot program delivered in Nunavut from 2006-2009 which produced 21 graduates. Summarizes history, development, and evaluation of program.
Outlines the social and economic problems associated with low literacy rates among Aboriginal peoples, and identifies best practices to address these issues.
